Terms & Conditions

Please review the following terms and policies to understand how our services work and what to expect when booking with Genuine Love Pet Care.

Client Service Agreement
 State of Florida

This Agreement is entered into between Genuine Love Pet Care LLC (“Service Provider”) and the undersigned pet owner (“Client”). It outlines the responsibilities, expectations, and legal rights of both parties concerning pet care services. Genuine Love Pet Care LLC is a licensed and insured pet care provider operating in the State of Florida.

1. Scheduling & Cancellations

Overnight Pet Sitting & Holiday Bookings

  • A 50% deposit is required at booking. No deposit = no reservation.
  • Remaining balance due 7 days before the stay.

Refund Policy

  • More than 7 days prior: Full refund
  • 3–6 days prior: 50% refund
  • Less than 72 hours prior: No refund

Holiday bookings follow the same policy.

Dog Walking & Drop-In Visits

  • 50% deposit required for bookings longer than 3 days.
  • Remaining balance due 24 hours before the first visit.

Refund Policy

  • More than 24 hours prior: Full refund or reschedule
  • Same-day cancellation: Full charge
  • No deposit: No guaranteed reservation

2. Emergency Medical Care

If the Client cannot be reached during a medical emergency, the Service Provider may transport the pet to the Client’s veterinarian or the nearest emergency clinic.

Client agrees to:

  • Maintain a payment card on file
  • Authorize a pre-approved emergency amount
  • Complete a Veterinary Pre-Authorization Form

3. Acknowledgment of Risks

Client acknowledges that pet care may involve inherent risks including illness, injury, or behavioral changes.

4. Client Responsibilities

Client certifies that:

  • Pets are current on vaccinations and free of contagious illness.
  • All medical/behavioral conditions are disclosed prior to service.
  • Written instructions for care are provided.
  • A veterinarian letter must be provided if vaccines are not possible.

5. Behavior & Liability

The Client is financially responsible for:

  • All injuries, damages, or losses caused by their pet
  • Disclosing aggression or bite history

6. Policies & Conditions

  • Females in heat may only use secure elimination areas; no walks.
  • Pets must be on flea prevention.
  • Mandatory meet-and-greet (30 minutes free; additional billed).
  • Keys/codes must be provided before service begins.

7. Weather & Safety Policy

  • Walks limited in extreme heat.
  • Walks may be shortened or delayed during storms.
  • Client must handle hurricane home preparation; sitter will not install shutters.
  • Reasonable efforts made for pet safety during evacuations.

8. Tardiness & Flexibility

A 30–40 minute visit window is permitted.

9. Outdoor Risks & Escapes

Not liable for escapes unless due to gross negligence.

10. Injuries, Illness, or Death

Not liable unless caused by gross negligence.

11. Hold Harmless Agreement

Client releases the Service Provider from liability except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

12. Keys, Access & Entry Liability

  • Client must ensure reliable access to the home.
  • Client must provide an alternate entry method (spare key, lockbox, neighbor keyholder, garage opener) in case electronic systems fail.
  • If entry cannot be made, the visit is still charged.
  • Locksmith costs are the Client’s responsibility unless caused by the sitter.
  • Keys returned with photo confirmation.

13. Parking, Towing, Valet & Entry Safety Requirements

Parking

  • Client must clearly identify legal parking areas.
  • The sitter will not park illegally.
  • Client must provide necessary permits, gate passes, or guest parking registration.

Valet / Paid Parking

  • If a building requires valet or paid parking, Client must pay all fees upfront before service begins.

Towing Responsibility

If the sitter’s vehicle is towed due to unclear or incorrect parking instructions, the Client is responsible for:

  • Tow fees
  • Storage/release fees
  • Transportation required to continue service

Call-to-Enter / Gate Restrictions

If the Client requires the sitter to call for access:

  • Client must remain reachable at scheduled time.
  • If unreachable after multiple attempts, sitter will leave.
  • The visit remains billable.

Unsafe Entry or Home Conditions

Sitter may decline or discontinue service if encountering:

  • Drug paraphernalia
  • Unsecured firearms
  • Hazardous materials
  • Aggressive individuals
  • Dangerous or unsanitary home conditions

Client remains responsible for service fees if the home is unsafe.

14. Overnight Care Cleanliness Requirements

Sleeping Area

Client must provide:

  • A clean, safe, clutter-free sleep area
  • Freshly washed bed sheets, pillowcases, and blankets
  • Bedding free of pests, odors, stains, or unsanitary conditions

Bathroom Conditions

Bathroom provided must be:

  • Clean and sanitized
  • Stocked with toilet paper, clean towels, soap
  • Free of mold, mildew, strong odors, or waste

General Home Cleanliness

Sitter may refuse or discontinue service if the home contains:

  • Trash buildup, strong odors, or excessive dirt
  • Pest infestations (roaches, bedbugs, fleas, rodents, etc.)
  • Heavy clutter posing tripping or safety hazards

If the sitter must leave due to unsafe or unsanitary conditions, the Client is still responsible for all scheduled fees.

15. Utility Requirements (Added Protection)

Client must maintain:

  • Working air conditioning/heating at a safe temperature
  • Running water and electricity
  • Safe living conditions suitable for humans and pets

If utilities fail or are shut off, the sitter may discontinue service for safety.
 Client remains financially responsible for scheduled services.

16. Pest Disclosure Requirement

Client must disclose any known pest issues (fleas, roaches, bedbugs, rodents, etc.) before service begins.
 If pests are discovered unexpectedly, the sitter may leave immediately.
 Client is responsible for all scheduled fees and any costs incurred due to exposure risk.

17. Camera Placement Restrictions

Client agrees that:

  • Cameras may NOT be placed in the sitter’s sleeping area, bathroom, or areas where the sitter changes clothing.
  • All cameras must be legally placed and disclosed in advance.
  • Hidden or undisclosed cameras are grounds for immediate termination of service.

18. Sitter Safety After Dark

The sitter is not required to:

  • Walk dogs outside after dark in unsafe or poorly lit areas,
  • Enter unfamiliar outdoor spaces that present safety risks.

Adjustments (earlier walks, indoor play, yard use) will be made for safety.

19. Overnight Stay Boundaries

The sitter is not responsible for:

  • Washing Client dishes or laundry
  • Cleaning household messes not related to the pet
  • Taking out home trash (unless pet-related)
  • Performing household chores or tasks unrelated to pet care

The sitter’s role is pet care only — not housekeeping.

20. Protection of Sitter’s Personal Belongings

Client is responsible for damages or loss to sitter’s belongings caused by:

  • Unsafe home conditions
  • Pests
  • Water leaks
  • Structural issues
  • Hazardous environments

21. Payment Policy

  • Payment required before service begins.
  • No payment = no service; deposit is forfeited.
  • Accepted payments: Zelle, CashApp, Cash, Credit Card.

22. Inclement Travel Policy

Visits may be rescheduled, shortened, or canceled if roads are unsafe.
 Refunds issued for visits the sitter cannot safely complete.

23. Communication Preferences

Updates, confirmations, and service notes will be sent via email and text.

24. Extended Care Authorization

If Client returns late, care may be extended when possible.

25. Aggressive or Dangerous Pets

Service may be discontinued if a pet becomes unsafe.

26. Third-Party Visitors

No unauthorized individuals may enter during service.
 Sitter is not responsible for incidents involving third parties.

27. Pet Abandonment

If Client fails to return or pay after 10 days, the pet may be surrendered or rehomed.

28. Pet & Household Supplies

Client must provide all pet care supplies.
 If supplies run out, replacements may be purchased and billed to Client.

29. Photo & Social Media Release

Client permits use of pet photos for business marketing.

30. Emergency Guardians

Client must provide a local Emergency Guardian for severe weather or emergencies.

31. Home Access, Privacy & Security

Client authorizes sitter to enter the home.
 Client must disclose expected visitors and ensure legal camera placement.

32. Entire Agreement

This Agreement represents the full understanding between Client and Service Provider.
 Changes must be in writing and signed.
 Governed by Florida law.
